Q: What is AuthenticatedAutographs.com?
A: AuthenticatedAutographs.com is an Online Registry Database service which aims at reducing the number of false autographs being sold, and giving buyers the piece of mind in knowing that the autographed item purchased is 100 % authentic.
Q: Who can use the AuthenticatedAutographs.com Database?
A: Both buyers and sellers of signed items can use the database. When selling an item, provide your buyer with the unique ‘AA’ item number, and our website address. They will then be able to view the details of the item you are selling, by entering the item number into the search box provided on the first page of our site.
Q: How long does it take for my item to show up on the AuthenticatedAutographs.com Database?
A: Your item will be on our database within one week.
Q: Why can't I find my item on the AuthenticatedAutographs.com Database?
A: Please ensure you have typed in your 'AA' item number correctly without any spaces. Please also be aware that you must wait a week from first getting your autograph authenticated, before the details will be added to the online authenticated Autographs database.
Q: I have found a dealer who is selling an Autograph which doesn't have an authenticated Autographs certificate, but they will supply a Certificate of Authenticity, does this mean this item is real?
A: We appreciate that anyone nowadays can produce their own certificate as a guarantee, but this is still no guarantee that the item is real. Some one that fakes Autographs can easily fake a COA on their computer
Q: I have found another dealer who is selling a the same Autograph as a dealer with an authenticated Autographs certificate, which doesn't have an authenticated Autographs certificate, but has a picture of themselves with the celebrity, does this mean this item is real?
A: Many people now sell their items with a photograph of themselves with the star signing the picture – sorry, again no guarantee, in fact some organisation will not let photographs be taken whilst certain celebrities are signing. The reason for this is because some people were faking stars Autograph and using the photo repeatedly to suggest it was real.
Q: Does AuthenticatedAutographs.com offer a Physical Review services?
A: Nowadays, Fake Autographs are made so well, that even the best authenticators are caught out, so the only way an autograph makes it into our database is if we are physically present at the time the item was signed, ensuring that all items on our database are 100 % authentic.
Q: How are AuthenticatedAutographs.com items identifiable?
A: Items from signings attended by AuthenticatedAutographs.com will carry a numbered ID tag. The ID tag's 'AA’ item number will allow you to access the items signing information, stored on our online database. This information will include a photograph of the signature on the item.
Q: Will my item remain on the Internet for any specific amount of time?
A: Once your item is photographed and registered on the AuthenticatedAutographs.com database, it will be available online forever. This is a standard part of our service and there are no additional costs involved.
Q: What should I do if I enter my code in but it brings up the wrong Information.
A: If this ever happens, please contact us Immediately. We will be able to confirm weather this item is genuine from our back up database, as sometimes the problem may just be because the database coding isn't lining up properly.
Q: Do I also receive a paper certificate after the registration is complete and my item is entered into the database?
A: Yes. You will receive a certificate of registration once your item is returned to you. This will contain your ‘AA’ number and should always remain with the item for identification purposes.
